February 20, 2022While the Smoky Mountains might not see round-the-clock cold temperatures or particularly heavy snowfall every winter, we are aware much of the rest of our visitors in our nearby states and regions have gotten much more their fill of winter weather and are probably looking towards a Spring Break to provide a particularly good and much deserved vacation from the freezing and the frozen. The Island could probably fill an entire day or more with the sheer amount of activity or relaxation one can find at our new favorite city square. That huge ferris wheel you’ve seen in the distance? That’s the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and it resides in The Island. Your body is pent up, tightened and ready to burst for fun. Sounds familiar to college students and most adults by the time Spring starts up. How to put that energy to good use and loosen that body up? The two trampoline parks we have in Sevier County will give you all the fun exercise of your youth and let you really cut loose with your latent athletic super skills. Want to be a ninja? Flyaway Indoor Skydiving in Pigeon Forge
One of the longest active and most unique attractions in the Tennessee Smokies, Flyaway is the only place in the area to enjoy the safest form of skydiving there is. You go inside and jump into a simulated air space where, for several minutes, a large fan keeps you floating and experiencing what it’s like to fall freely through the sky without having any of the danger associated with doing so. No virtual reality here, you do a real jump and you really fly in the air for a while. You’ve got to try it out!

Outdoor Gravity Park
At some point in our childhoods, all of us dreamed of the day when we could roll down the hills in giant spherical objects, but those who get to venture out to the Smokies will find those dreams realized with the Outdoor Gravity Park between Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. You get inside a huge, hypnotizing plastic ball that’s been specifically designed to going down hills and keeping occupants safe. There are several different modes of traveling down these hills in the enormous orbs presented; the FUNnel, the Speed Demon or the Extreme Zig Zag. You can even experience it with water put in if you’d like.

Escape Games All Throughout Sevier County
Don’t forget your mind still needs a workout as much as your body does. Between 2016 to 2017, Sevier County became absolutely infested with Escape Games – all manners of attractions where you and a group are locked into a finite space and have to figure out how to escape. It’s a living fantasy and you need to work with others to figure out the puzzles therein.
