Rollercoasters at Dollywood
February 27, 2022Fishing in the Smokies/Gatlinburg
March 2, 2022By now, most visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains are surely aware that famous Seviervillain Dolly Parton has a water park in addition to her own nationwide-famous Dollywood. For those that aren’t, we wanted to introduce you to one of the most famous water parks in the state of Tennessee that does for water fun what Dollywood does for adrenaline fun: Dolly’s Splash Country in Pigeon Forge!
Splash Country is 35 acres of white-crashing waves, aqua gun blasts, slides, contraptions, and playgrounds that families of all ages can potentially enjoy. You’ll see popular water park stalwarts that you remember enjoying when you were little to big Dr. Seuss-like structures, huge slides and group rides, the lazy river and more. After The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and of course the aforementioned Dollywood, Splash Country is the 3rd most recommended attraction that we suggest to visitors when the number of attractions in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville clocks in at over 100.
Dollywood.com writes:
“Go, go, go or take it slow – there’s something for every excitement level at Dollywood’s Splash Country. The adventurers can race together on TailSpin Racer, the whole family can twist and turn on Raging River Rapids, the kids can get drenched in Little Creek Falls and everyone can grab a tube and ride a wave in Mountain Waves, our massive wave pool.
Voted a Top 10 Outdoor Water Park by USA Today Readers, Dollywood’s Splash Country has slides and splashes for every age. Tucked into the mountainside, lush trees line the park and your adventure comes with beautiful mountain views! If you’re looking for a thrill, take the plunge down Firetower Falls. Want to relax? Little Creek Falls
“For the younger folk, Little Creek Falls provides the best in exciting and safe fun! Enjoy hours of good times in the children’s pool, fun slides and activity center – all guaranteed to get little tykes wonderfully wet and wild! For those who are looking for a shaded area, you can hang out under one of the Butterfly wings or reserve one of our seven canopies in Little Creek Falls.”

RiverRush®
“RiverRush® — it’s Tennessee first and only water coaster! Get ready for the next generation of water coasters as RiverRush races through the trees four stories in the air as you experience four drops along 1,175 feet of track that thrills with multiple hairpin turns and dark tunnels—all combined with rushing water! Slick Rock Racer
“Slick Rock Racer is a multi-lane mat slide spanning 300 feet and features four water-drenched lanes, each side by side. Positioned belly down on mats, each rider travels head first on a channel which includes an initial dip to build speed. Multiple bumps along the length of the slide allow riders to gain additional momentum which propels them to the finish.”
SwiftWater Run
“It’s a rush of white water fun on SwiftWater Run, Dollywood’s Splash Country’s thrill ride. Hold on tight as the current rushes ’round and ’round through the corkscrew tunnel before a breathtaking splash sends you sailing down the chute. It’s twists and turns like you’ve never seen before on SwiftWater Run!”
TailSpin Racer

From its unique spiraling, high-speed AquaTubes to its splashdown finish, it’s an all-out race to see who can get to the end first. TailSpin Racer matches riders in a head-to-head race with the fun of a traditional mat racer-style slide and the tight turns and daring drops of an enclosed slide.”
The Butterfly
“Be prepared for steep drops at Dollywood’s Splash Country as you plunge down two 55-foot-long extreme slides on the Butterfly. The adventure ends in the 3’-6” deep Butterfly Pool, a landing zone with the wings of a butterfly to catch you.”
The Cascades™
“The Cascades is an 8,000-sq.-ft. lagoon-style pool, featuring more than 25 interactive elements. Slides weave throughout the giant rock grotto while refreshing 20-foot-tall sprays rise from the pool’s geyser. Relax in the contoured seating area or in a chaise lounge chair situated on the 24,000-sq.-ft. deck space. Children can explore hidden misters, bubblers and slides in secret coves around the pool’s perimeter.”
Wild River Falls
“The many rivers in the Great Smoky Mountains are a playground for nature lovers. But you can enjoy the same experience on Wild River Falls as four daring slides invite the whole family to twist and turn as the cool water sends you sliding in the warm sunshine or dare to navigate the dark tunnels!”
